Bluetooth technology updates too fast, or wireless headphones too backward?
Before answering this question, we might as well figure out the difference between different Bluetooth versions and the release time. According to Vicky Encyclopedia, the 4.0 version of Bluetooth was released in 2010, with a maximum transfer rate of 24Mbit/s and a maximum transmission distance of 50 meters.
As can be seen from the picture below, although the Bluetooth 4.0 has undergone two version changes, its maximum transmission rate and transmission distance have not changed until the Bluetooth Alliance released the 5.0 version in 2016.
In fact, only the device is equipped with a Bluetooth 4.0 chip, which can be upgraded to the 4.2 version through subsequent firmware versions. With the iPhone 6, this model was released in September 2014. One year later, Apple quietly modified the parameters of the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Air 2 on its official website, replacing the original Bluetooth 4.2 with the latest Bluetooth 4.2.
